In central Italy, on the west side with a view of the Tyrrhenian Sea, Tuscany is also a remarkable region from many points of view. Pisa, one of the Maritime Republics, is just one of the many places that have stories to tell about the history of the Italian peninsula.
Here, the Italian language originated thanks to figures like Dante. Florence is indeed defined as the cradle of culture and the Renaissance. Noteworthy are the Maremma, a territory mainly falling within the province of Grosseto, and the Tuscan Hills.
These latter, between the Etruscan Coast and the Arno River Valley, represent a wonder purely from a morphological aspect characterized by an enormous variety of landscapes.
The Chianti Hills, famous for the excellent red wine of the same name, are just the tip of the iceberg of a region rich in food and wine traditions not to be missed.
