“Chagall: Dream of Love” showcased until October 27th at the Museum Hub – Conti Acquaviva D’Aragona Castle in Conversano (BA), Puglia. Over 100 stunning works narrate the artistic journey of one of the universally esteemed and admired figures.
After the resounding success of last year’s Antonio Ligabue exhibition in Conversano, praised by visitors, the Municipality of Bari and Arthemisia are back to captivate audiences with the vivid works of one of the foremost artists of the 20th century.
Chagall’s unmistakable, dreamy style and tumultuous life make him a singular figure in art history. His blue brushstrokes blur the lines between sea and sky, immersing viewers in the enigmatic depths of the subconscious.
Chagall on Display: Love, Dream, and Fantasy
Love, serving as the thematic thread, intertwines artist’s entire oeuvre: love for religion, homeland, his alter ego, fairy tales, and art. The emotionally resonant exhibition unveils his unique world, brimming with awe and wonder. Within his works, childhood memories, fairy tales, poetry, religion, and migration coalesce, creating a dreamscape of vibrant colors and intense hues. Characters, whether real or imagined, populate his landscapes, blurring the lines between reality and dreams in Chagall’s mesmerizing imagination.
The exhibition is further enriched by numerous multimedia supports including videos, educational insights, and immersive elements. Endorsed and supported by the Municipality of Conversano, City of Art, and Museco – Museums in Conversano, the exhibition “Chagall: Dream of Love” is produced and organized by Arthemisia and curated by esteemed scholar Dolores Duràn Ucàr. Art historian Francesca Villanti lends her Italian narration to the exhibit.
